Emily Henry - Great Big Beautiful Life

Emily Henry: Great Big Beautiful Life – a sparkling romance about writers, secrets and the stories we choose to tell

Great Big Beautiful Life is a dazzling new novel from bestselling author Emily Henry, known for her emotionally rich, sharply funny and deeply readable contemporary romances. This time, the story follows two writers who arrive on balmy Little Crescent Island for the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to write the biography of Margaret Ives, a famously private heiress from one of the most scandalous families of the twentieth century.

Alice Scott is an optimistic writer hoping this project will become her big break — and perhaps finally prove something to her family. Her rival, Hayden Anderson, is a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer with a far more serious reputation and a much stormier personality. Margaret offers them both a one-month trial period, but she reveals only fragments of her story to each of them. Bound by a strict NDA, Alice and Hayden cannot easily compare notes, even as the mystery deepens and the attraction between them becomes harder to ignore.

What is the book about?
The novel follows Alice Scott and Hayden Anderson as they compete to tell the life story of Margaret Ives, a reclusive heiress with secrets, scandals and carefully chosen truths to reveal. As the writers gather different pieces of the puzzle, they must decide what kind of story they are really uncovering: a mystery, a tragedy, a love story — or something more complicated.
